"Ageing Workforce" Workshop

"The challenges of an ageing workforce in logistics"

The effects of demographic developments are being felt even in the field of logistics. The average population in Germany is getting older and the same trend is seen in employees. The number of younger people joining the workforce decreases more and more. At the same time, longer work hours are becoming a necessity.

  • Will this development affect the performance levels of logistics functions?
  • How should logistics centres be planned when a rising number of older people will work there in the future?
  • What should be do to find new workers for logistics activities?

These are some of the questions discussed with logistics and HR managers of our clients as well as other interested companies. The age structures in these companies was analysed prior to the workshop:

The average industrial worker in the field of logistics is 41 years old. This age will increase to 50 years in the next decade - with all the consequences attached to performance levels and absenteeism.

We are looking for answers to these questions through an information exchange with different branches. If you are interested in more information or would like to take part in our next workshop, please contact Ralph Ehmann.
